Local Friedel sum rule on graphs

We consider graphs made of one-dimensional wires connected at vertices and on which may live a scalar potential. We are interested in a scattering situation where the graph is connected to infinite leads. We investigate relations between the scattering matrix and the continuous part of the local density of states, the injectivities, emissivities and partial local density of states. Those latter...

Generalized sum graphs

Harary [8] calls a finite, simple graph G a sum graph if one can assign to each vi ∈ V (G) a label xi so that {vi, vj} ∈ E(G) iff xi + xj = xk for some k. We generalize this notion by replacing “xi + xj” with an arbitrary symmetric polynomial f(xi, xj). We show that for each f , not all graphs are “f -graphs”. Furthermore, we prove that for every f and every graph G we can transform G into an f...

Generalized Schwinger Mass Formula

We generalize Schwinger’s original mass formula to the case of an additional isosinglet which mixes with the nonet mesons, by considering the corresponding 3×3 mass matrix in the most general case. We then make further generalization to either (i) an arbitrary number of additional isosinglets mixing with nonet mesons, or (ii) an arbitrary number of mesons with common J mixing with an additional...

The Generalized Tilt Formula

A convex hull consmaction in Minkowski space defines a canonical cell decomposition for a cusped hyperbolic n-manifold. An algorithm to compute the canonical cell decomposition uses the concept of the 'tilt' of an n-simplex relative to each of its (n 1)-dimensional faces. An essential tool for computing tilts is the tilt theorem. The tilt theorem was previously known only in dimensions n < 3, a...

Spectral Sum Rules and Selberg's Integral Formula

Using Selberg's integral formula we derive all Leutwyler-Smilga type sum rules for one and two flavors, and for each of the three chiral random matrix ensembles. In agreement with arguments from effective field theory, all sum rules for N f = 1 coincide for the three ensembles. The connection between spectral correlations and the low-energy effective partition function is discussed.
